Nigeria’s Junior Female YellowGreens got their ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier campaign off to a positive start with a four-wicket victory over Uganda U19 Women in Tanzania on Sunday.
Uganda found it difficult to score freely against the Nigerian attack, finishing their 20 overs on 57 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
Nigeria made light work of the modest target, scoring 60 runs for six wickets in 13.1 overs to seal victory and claim maximum points from their opening fixture.
The Junior Female YellowGreens will now turn their attention to their remaining matches as they continue their push for qualification for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
